Chapter 6: Beginners on Board
Once in the harbor, we put up the sails and turned off the engine. All was going well until a US Coast Guard dinghy sped up to us and matched our pace.
“Who is the captain of this vessel?” demanded the man standing on the dinghy’s bow with a bull-horn.
For law enforcement officials, the six black-clad men in the black dinghy looked sinister with their guns, crew-cut haircuts, dark sunglasses and grim faces.
“I am,” Paul shouted.
“Permission to board your vessel,” he asked, although it sounded more like a command. I could hear my dad and his friends sniggering like schoolboys. The show was getting better by the minute...
