An Excerpt from "Sailing to Jessica"
Chapter 8:  Woman Behind-the-Wheel in the Bahamas

...Then we, too, departed for Rose Island via Nassau’s busy harbor. In mere minutes, my relaxed demeanor vanished.
As soon as we entered the harbor, we turned into the wind and raised our main sail.  Then Paul headed down below, leaving me behind the wheel.  Cruise ships, ferry boats, tour boats, day sailboats, fishing boats and skiffs buzzed around the harbor randomly, and I vainly tried to remember who had right-of-way on the water. The rules were complicated.
As I checked the water around us, I saw a double-decker tour boat speeding up behind us on a collision course.  I scanned the power boat, searching its decks and finally spotting the cockpit.  No one was there!

An iguana looks at me for food on Allen Cay. Cherokee Rose is anchored in the far distance, away from the pale green water!

Sundowner (sun·down·er) -
a drink taken at sundown

Our cruising friends Alida and John from s/v Acclaim made these yummy Sundowners for us.  Here is Alida's recipe:  Mix equal parts of orange juice, grapefruit juice, pineapple juice and rum; then add fresh squeezed lime juice and a splash of grenedine to taste. Sprinkle top with ground nutmeg and serve.
