Garmin GPS
We have a Garmin 76 mounted at the NavStation in a special bracket. It is wired into boat power, an external antennae mounted to the wind generator pole (see pushpit) and also the SILVA instrumentation system. It is simply removed to function in a handheld capacity with an internal antennae. Full GPS interfacing is explained in the section on the SILVA instruments.
Also wired into the SILVA network is the Trimble Inmarsat-C system which is also a GPS.
As third and 4th backups we have a Garmin GPS 45 and a Garmin GPS 48 (the 48 has a cracked face plate hence is not waterproof anymore) If need should arise they both have mounting brackets and cables to mount at either the NavStation or the wheel.
