Miscellaneous Engine Room:
When the engine and water tanks were removed in 2003 the whole of the bilge back to the mast was sanded and painted in a two part THICK special bilge paint. We have 4 bilge pumps on Rosie all sucking from beneath this engine. The main fresh water pump is beneath the galley floor. When activated an led light displays in the cockpit, same for the bilge pump. There is halon fire extinguisher in the engine room. We have a spare Main and a 90% Yankee in a space under the fridge in the engine room. This is hard to reach and the sails may have to be unfolded in location and removed that way, or the muffler removed. They were placed here with the muffler removed.Under the galley floor is a space where oil and transmission fluid is stored, it is currently empty but the plastic tray that holds the items remains.Under the galley floor is a wooden shelf, that contains: biocide fuel additive, the baha fuel filter, 2 part siphon hose, oil filter removal tool, oil funnel, tranny fluid funnel, other oils and spray paints.By the engine seacock is a red "T" valve. This is for bleeding the fridge pump if required. (See refrigeration for details)There is a large opening aft of the engine that is useful for storing long items. I currently have two windsurfer booms, two windsurfer masts (each one in two pieces) two spare 6ft stainless poles and a 16ft spare mainsail batton. There is more storage under the wet locker accessed via the step down to the quarter berth. Reach in it goes all the way round the corner.

"Part travelogue, part memoir, part craziness (they sailed around the world without actually knowing how to sail!) Sailing to Jessica holds nothing back..." - Katie on Goodreads.com
